Stories from the Kitchen At the Lions Gate Community Center

Stories from the Kitchen consisted of 4 sessions, in each session chefs from the
community will offer demonstrations of foods from various cultures (Indigenous,
Persian, Asian, Ukrainian). Up to 15 participants had an opportunity to taste and enjoy
the dishes together. After the meal, artist facilitators led the participants in discussions
and story sharing. The food prompted sharing memories, considering cultural
significance, and creating new stories together as a community.
The program was led by artist and chefs: Johnny Trinh and Pierre Leichner.
