Shortly after the Indonesian Tsunami I was intrigued
by our governments unusual generosity and sponsorship of relief efforts.
I quickly became aware that even organizations like the Red Cross were
being sponsored by big business. Possibly one of the main reasons underlying
this interest was the investment potential of rebuilding the area.
This apparently benevolent interest was an opportunity for capitalistic
colonialism to infiltrate. In The dealer installation I made I.V.bags
in the shape of car oil bottles and put them on an I.V. pole on a beach
and in an alley close to beach toys and sand.
