“Imagine there's no countries.
It isn't hard to do.
Nothing to kill or die for.
And no religion too.
Imagine all the people living life in peace”
John Lennon- 1971
Humans are a migratory species.
Humans are a territorial species.
Humans are an invasive species.
Humans are capable of the best and the worst.
Borders are horrific human constructions that create suffering.
Nations are antiquated human constructions that create suffering.
This project is a series of mixed-media sculptures. I am mostly using cement, barbed wire, and shoelaces in these works. The materials reflect the ruins of the violent history of nations. I use hands and feet in the sculptures. The coloured strings are shoelaces.
